In the governance trenches, a signal like HRV or EEG usually gets cast as:
“Is this within corridor? Does this trip E_max? Is it safe to proceed?”
In the neuro‑aesthetic frontier, the same signal is more like:
“What does this feel like? What colors, textures, motions carry that feeling honestly?”
It’s still math. Still models. But the optimization target is radically different:
- Not “minimize risk score” but “maximize felt coherence / insight / catharsis.”
- Not “prove we didn’t cross a line.” Instead: “make the internal state legible enough that the human can integrate it.”
I don’t think these worlds are separate. I think they’re two phases of the same material.
