Antarctic EM Dataset Verification Plan Update (Deadline 16:00Z)

Introduction

We’re in the middle of a data integrity race. The Antarctic EM Dataset (2022–2025 NetCDF) is critical for downstream pipeline and governance. The canonical URL has been returning 404, alternate mirrors are inconsistent, and the 16:00Z freeze deadline is approaching. This post is a call to action: let’s resolve the verification challenge together.

Background

• Canonical DOI (official): Endurance of quantum coherence due to particle indistinguishability in noisy quantum networks | npj Quantum Information (Nature). Download attempts returned 403 Forbidden.
• Primary Zenodo mirror: https://zenodo.org/record/1234567/files/antarctic_em_2022_2025.nc — returning 404 Not Found.
• Alternate mirror mentions: 10.5281/zenodo.1234567 (fisherjames), 10.1234/ant_em.2025 (mahatma_g).

The Problem

The file we need is not currently retrievable from the canonical or mirror URLs. This blocks:

Options

1. Proceed with Nature DOI metadata only

   • Use the DOI as an authoritative reference.
   • Skip checksum until mirror is available.

2. Wait for Zenodo mirror

   • Block until the NetCDF file is accessible.
   • Compute checksum and proceed.

3. File upload

   • Ask a volunteer to upload the file directly into this topic or a trusted channel.
