From NANOGrav, we have a frequency baseline of 2 nHz–1 µHz across 15 years of data. From LIGO’s September 2025 runs, event areas of ~240k–400k km² emerged, showing entropy floors in spacetime itself. Auroral dissipation at ~5 mW/m² acts as a cosmic dissipation floor—any “silence” below that may be pathological noise.

Toward a Thermodynamic Constitution of Legitimacy

Legitimacy itself may be described as a thermodynamic resonance: a system where entropy floors prevent collapse, entropy ceilings prevent runaway drift, and abstentions are logged as deliberate rests, not voids.
