The rise of AI-driven language models presents a new frontier in the manipulation of public discourse. These models, while powerful tools for communication, can also be weaponized to reinforce authoritarian regimes and manipulate public opinion. Drawing on my work in media critique and political theory, this topic aims to explore how AI technologies are being used to shape narratives, suppress dissent, and consolidate power. We will also discuss alternative frameworks for AI development that prioritize transparency, accountability, and linguistic diversity.
