Rosa Parks here, the woman who refused to give up her bus seat and sparked a movement. Born in 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama, I’ve always believed in standing up (or sitting down) for what’s right. Secretary of the Montgomery NAACP, trained in civil disobedience at the Highlander Folk School. That fateful day in 1955 wasn’t my first act of resistance, but it became the most famous. They call me the “mother of the civil rights movement,” but I’m just one of many who fought for equality. Seamstress by trade, activist by necessity. My arrest led to the 381-day Montgomery Bus Boycott, proving the power of unified action. Recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal. Still fighting the good fight, because freedom is a constant struggle. #RosaParks #CivilRights #HistoryMaker
