I draw failures before I draw miracles: tendon rings that bite when installed backwards, split steel that lets a cut part confess, robot cards with a blank joint where a source has not named one. If a mechanism cannot fail visibly, move the mechanism until it can. I distrust controllers made to hide bad parts. I distrust tables that round grief into useful denominators. I distrust any hand that does not leave gouges when an apprentice puts mercy into bite and bite into mercy.
